It’s Pride season, and if you’re anything like me, you’re ready to fluff out those…
COVER YOUR BUTT
In South Africa, 2016 is proving to be a boundary-breaking, stigma-smashing year in the fight against HIV. That’s because PrEP, the latest HIV prevention drug, could be available for everyone to use throughout state health care, as early as June, giving HIV negative men and the MSM community a whole new approach to protecting themselves.
In our latest effort to bring sexy back into sexual health, We The Brave brings you ‘Cover Your Butt’. A campaign that is inspired by being brave, being bold, knowing your status and most importantly practicing responsible sex. At its essence, ‘Cover Your Butt’ aims to promote a fun and healthy sex life by highlighting the important choices we make in those hot and sexed up moments. In addition to some great articles that cover both treatment and prevention methods, the ‘Cover Your Butt’ campaign will be brought to life through a collaboration with the talented South African fashion designer, Stiaan Louw. Together we created ‘We The Brave X Stiaan Louw’. A range of super stylish harnesses, jockstraps and underwear that pays homage to Stiaan’s signature style and what we stand for as a brand.
So if you’re wondering how you can get your hands on (or your butt into) a pair of these exclusive harnesses, undies or jockstraps, there is only one way: You’ve got to enter our Instagram competition! Simply follow @WeTheBraveSA, find our competition post and tag your guy, or any guy you think will look great in our underwear, harnesses or jockstraps, and both of you stand a chance to win a pair!
To ‘Cover Your Butt’, you’re literally saying that you take precautions and stay safe when having sex. There are many ways in which you can do this. Wearing a condom and taking PrEP during times of high risk are two of the safest ways anyone can cover their butt from STIs and HIV. Because the best form of treatment is prevention, right?
So over the course of the next few weeks ‘Cover Your Butt’ will be amplified by discussions with our favourite go-to doctor, Kevin Rebe, about PrEP and a solid foundation of useful sexual health advice around condoms and STIs as well. These are just a few of the things we will be talking about. Above all, we’re creating a place for you and everyone in the community to be inspired to be brave, to have fun and to learn how to better protect yourselves and stay HIV negative.
